Regular Season Round 16: Zaglebie - AZS PS Gliwice 79-58

There was an upset in Sosnowiec where one of their biggest challengers AZS PS Gliwice (10-6) was crushed by eighth ranked Zaglebie (8-8) 79-58 on Saturday. Zaglebie outrebounded AZS PS Gliwice 38-27 including 29 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Kamil Wojciak (193-85) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and Piotr Osiakowski (197-92) who added 15 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side swingman Daniel Pelka (193-80) responded with 15 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Krzysztof Wasowicz (183-94) scored 9 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Zaglebie moved-up to fifth place in Group C, which they share with AZS PCz and Pogon RS. Newly promoted AZS PS Gliwice keeps the fourth position with six games lost. Zaglebie will face Wisla Krakow (#10) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. AZS PS Gliwice will play against Cieszyn (#9) and hope to win that game.
