Regular Season Round 16: Wisla Krakow - Polkowice 79-53

An interesting game for Wisla Krakow (14-2) which hosted in Krakow 3rd ranked Polkowice (12-4). First ranked Wisla Krakow had an easy win 79-53. The game was mostly controlled by Wisla Krakow. Polkowice was better in third quarter 24-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Polkowice to just 4 points in fourth quarter. Wisla Krakow forced 20 Polkowice turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by Polkowice's players. Polkowice was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American players dominated the game. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Yvonne Turner (176-87, college: Nebraska) who helped to win the game recording 29 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and center Devereaux Peters (187-89, college: Notre Dame) who added 16 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side guard Nicole Michael (188-87, college: Syracuse, agency: Two Points) responded with 11 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Nikki Greene (193-90, college: Penn St.) scored 10 points and 7 rebounds. Wisla Krakow have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 14-2 record. Polkowice at the other side keeps the third place with four games lost. They share the position with Sleza Wroclaw. Wisla Krakow will play against bottom-ranked MKK Siedlce (#12) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Polkowice will play against MUKS Poznan (#11) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
