Regular Season Round 16: Albino - Bolzano 52-48

Very expected game when 13th ranked Bolzano (4-12) lost on the road to fourth ranked Albino (10-6) 52-48 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 10 points after three quarters before their 19-5 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Albino dominated on the defensive end, holding Bolzano to just 5 points in fourth quarter. Quite impressive performance for guard Laura Fumagalli (178-85) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 9 rebounds. The former international center Elisa Silva (192-88, agency: LBM Management) contributed with 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. Polish-French center Karolina Piotrkiewicz (190-84, college: Liberty) replied with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Viviana Giordano (167-89) added 12 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Bolzano. Bolzano's coach Walter Bazzan tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Albino maintains fourth position in A2 with 10-6 record. Newly promoted Bolzano keeps the thirteenth place with 12 games lost. Albino will face Alpo VR (#6) in Verona in the next round. Bolzano will play at home against San Salvatore (#10) and hope to win that game.
