Very important is a road loss of second ranked Ferrara (14-2) against sixth ranked Castellammare (9-7) on Saturday night. Visiting Ferrara was defeated by Castellammare in a tough game in Stabia 53-59. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Ferrara won third quarter 11-8. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Castellammare won last quarter 15-11. They also forced 19 Ferrara turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Barbara Negri (184-86) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 4 assists and guard Maria Gallo (168-92) who added 19 points and 4 steals during the contest. At the losing side power forward Alice Nori (183-93) responded with 18 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and Argentinian swingman Macarena Rosset (178-91, agency: Players Group) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Castellammare maintains sixth position in A2 with 9-7 record. Ferrara at the other side keeps the second place with two games lost. Castellammare will play against higher ranked Palermo (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Ferrara will play against Viareggio and hopes to get back on the winning track.
