Regular Season Round 14: Ytrebygda - Asker 59-68

Kvinneligaen top team - Asker (10-2) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat seventh ranked Ytrebygda (2-12) 68-59. The guests trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 36-23 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Asker held Ytrebygda to an opponent 23.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 47.3 percent accuracy of the winners. Asker had a 33-12 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was forward Ingrid Selvik (178-92) who had a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds. Forward Julie Wilborn (173-98) chipped in 10 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Solveig Mildestvedt (165-98) produced 16 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals and guard Karoline Falch-Monsen (169-98) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Asker have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 10-2 record. Newly promoted Ytrebygda stay at the bottom place with 12 games lost. Asker will meet at home league's second-placed Ullern in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Ytrebygda will have a break next round.
