Regular Season Round 14: Arras - Nice 67-63

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Nice (10-4) against fourteenth ranked Arras (2-11) on Saturday night. Visiting Nice was defeated by Arras in a tough game in Arras 63-67. The hosts trailed by 10 points after three quarters before their 29-15 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Arras made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Strangely Nice outrebounded Arras 45-33 including a 20-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Forward Jenny Fouasseau (179-92) notched 22 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and Dutch forward Chatilla Van Grinsven (190-89, college: St.Joseph's, agency: LBM Management) supported her with 16 points and 14 rebounds. Even a double-double of 17 points and 16 rebounds by Mali center Djene Diawara (192-85, agency: Comsport) did not help to save the game for Nice. American forward Courtney Hurt (185-90, college: VCU) added 11 points and 7 rebounds for the guests. Nice's coach Rachid Meziane tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Arras maintains fourteenth position with 2-11 record. Newly promoted Nice keeps the third place with four games lost. Arras will meet higher ranked Nantes Reze (#10) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Nice will play against the league's leader Lattes Montpellier (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
