Very expected game when 10th ranked Montbrison (4-9) was defeated at home by second ranked Tarbes (11-1) 69-64 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 7 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 69-64. Tarbes dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Montbrison's 30. Tarbes had a 30-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. Berengere Dinga-Mbomi (172-95) stepped up and scored 16 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners and the former international center Elodie Bertal (191-84) chipped in 17 points and 11 rebounds. At the losing side forward Aurelia Bouillon (168-88) responded with 23 points and forward Lucie Carlier (187-90) scored 18 points. The victory was the eleventh consecutive win for Tarbes. They maintain second place with 11-1 record behind leader Aulnoye. Montbrison lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth position with nine games lost. Tarbes will face Dunkerque (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Montbrison will play against Limoges and hope to win that game.
