Eleventh-ranked Charnay (2-11) gave a tough game to sixth ranked Reims (7-6) in Charnay-les-Macon. The visitors from Reims managed to secure only one-point victory 74-73. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 23-13. But Charnay won second period 20-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Reims made 17-of-22 charity shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Strangely Charnay outrebounded Reims 34-21. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Clementine Morateur (176-95) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. American forward Candace Williams (184-88, college: New Hampshire) answered with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 16 rebounds and guard Margot Joret (168-93) added 10 points in the effort for Charnay. Reims maintains sixth place with 7-6 record. Charnay lost their eighth game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with 11 games lost. Reims' next round opponent will be bottom-ranked CFBB (#12) in Paris which should be theoretically an easy game. Charnay will play on the road against Avenir in Chartres and hope to win that game.
