Regular Season Round 19: Mons-Hainaut - Kangoeroes 94-62

The game between eighth ranked Belfius Mons-Hainaut (7-7) and 10th ranked Kangoeroes (4-11) in Jemappes on Saturday ended with biggest points difference. Belfius Mons-Hainaut outscored guests from Willebroek 94-62. The game was mostly controlled by Belfius Mons-Hainaut. Kangoeroes managed to win second period 18-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Belfius Mons-Hainaut dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Kangoeroes' 26. Belfius Mons-Hainaut looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Kangoeroes' players. It was a quality performance for American forward Robert Arnold (198-88, college: Boise St.) who led the winners and scored 23 points. The former international center Amaury Gorgemans (212-92) accounted for 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Four Belfius Mons-Hainaut players scored in double figures. Belfius Mons-Hainaut's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American guard Vernon Taylor (192-87, college: Troy) came up with 16 points and Senne Geukens (192-83) added 18 points respectively for Kangoeroes in the defeat. Belfius Mons-Hainaut moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Brussels. Loser Kangoeroes keep the tenth position with 11 games lost. Belfius Mons-Hainaut will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kangoeroes will play against VOO Verviers-Pepinster (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
