Regular Season Round 16: Energa Torun - Sleza Wroclaw 72-75

Seventh-ranked Energa Torun (7-9) used its home court advantage to challenge fourth ranked Sleza Wroclaw (12-4) on Saturday. The visitors from Wroclaw managed to secure only three-point victory 75-72. However their fans expected easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Energa Torun. It was a great shooting night for Sleza Wroclaw especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Sharnee Zoll-Norman (170-86, college: Virginia) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points, 12 assists and 5 steals. The former international center Magdalena Leciejewska (191-86) contributed with 15 points for the winners. American power forward Victoria Macaulay (193-90, college: Temple, agency: Two Points) replied with 23 points and 9 rebounds and her fellow American import guard Renee Taylor (158-85, college: Miami, FL) added 9 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists in the effort for Energa Torun. Four Energa Torun players scored in double figures. Sleza Wroclaw have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Polkowice. Energa Torun at the other side keeps the seventh position with nine games lost. Sleza Wroclaw is looking forward to face AZS UMCS (#6) in Lublin in the next round. Energa Torun will play on the road against Gdynia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
