Regular Season Round 16: Trefl II Sopot - Pelplin 68-60

There was an upset when higher ranked Pelplin (9-6) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked Trefl II Sopot (6-10) 68-60 on Sunday. Trefl II Sopot dominated down low during the game scoring 36 of its points in the paint compared to Pelplin's 16. Trefl II Sopot forced 21 Pelplin turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Pawel Krefft (192-96) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 7 rebounds and Rafal Stefanik (197-94, agency: Promotex) who added 15 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Trefl II Sopot players scored in double figures. Trefl II Sopot's coach Janusz Kociolek used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side the former international swingman Bartosz Sarzalo (197-83) responded with 20 points and 5 rebounds and forward Wiktor Czyzewski (196-92) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Trefl II Sopot have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to eighth place in Group A. Newly promoted Pelplin keeps the fifth position with six games lost. Trefl II Sopot will face Basket Pila (#11) on the road in the next round.
