No shocking result in a game when second ranked Team Crema (13-3) beat at home 6th ranked Alpo VR (8-8) 66-52 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 66-52. Team Crema forced 20 Alpo VR turnovers. It was a very good performance for guard Paola Caccialanza (175-89) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 5 rebounds. Latvian forward Ieva Veinberga (185-84) contributed with 13 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Bosnian Marina Dzinic (190-92) replied with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds and forward Silvia Zanardelli (180-98) added 12 points and 13 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for Alpo VR. Team Crema maintains second position in A2 with 13-3 record having five points less than leader Broni. Loser Alpo VR keeps the sixth place with eight games lost. Team Crema will face Marghera (#9) in Venezia in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Alpo VR will play at home against Albino and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
