Regular Season Round 12: Kronos AD - Proteas 55-76

Date: January 24, 2016
The game in Kronos supposed to be also quite interesting. Third ranked Proteas (8-4) played at the court of 7th ranked Kronos AD (5-7). Proteas smashed Kronos AD 76-55 on Sunday. Proteas had a 34-23 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Anna Spyridopoulou (184-88) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds. American guard Katie Rutan (173-90, college: Maryland) chipped in 26 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Verdine Warner (196-92, college: Shaw) who recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and Cypriot guard Eleana Pantazi (177-83) added 8 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Proteas have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 8-4 record having four points less than leader Olympiacos Pireus. Newly promoted Kronos AD keeps the seventh place with seven games lost. They share the position with Terpsithea. Proteas will meet at home Terpsithea (#7) in the next round. Kronos AD will play against the league's leader Olympiacos Pireus and hope to secure a win.
