Rather expected game when 15th ranked Taranto (4-14) was edged on the road by thirteenth ranked Vasto (6-12) 72-70 on Sunday. Vasto dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Taranto's 30. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Taranto was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for center Andrea Casettari (200-85) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Andrea Tracchi (175-86) contributed with 17 points and 8 assists for the winners. Four Vasto players scored in double figures. Point guard Valerio Circosta (188-87) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists and point guard Roberto Maggio (183-90) added 15 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Taranto. Vasto moved-up to twelfth place in B, which they share with Fiorentina. Loser Taranto dropped to the sixteenth position with 14 games lost. Vasto will face higher ranked Pescara (#6) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Taranto will play against Martina Franca (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
