Very predictable result when third ranked Bergamo (15-3) rolled over on the road 15th ranked Battaglia (3-14) 90-59 on Sunday. Bergamo forced 21 Battaglia turnovers. It was a good game for naturalized Argentinian Mario Jose Ghersetti (201-81) who led his team to a victory with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Jacopo Mercante (192-90) contributed with 17 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Bergamo players scored in double figures. Stefano Pontisso (191-93) replied with 9 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists and point guard Fabio Grugnetti (171-87) added 11 points in the effort for Battaglia. Battaglia's coach Alfonso Zanellati gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Bergamo have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain third position in B with 15-3 record behind leader Forli. Loser Battaglia keeps the fifteenth place with 14 games lost. Bergamo will face Moncalieri (#16) at home in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Battaglia will play against Padova and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
