Regular Season Round 17: HyPo - Espoo Team 91-69

Rather predictable result in Hyvinkaa where third ranked HyPo (11-5) smashed 7th ranked Espoo Team (5-11) 91-69. It looked good early as Espoo Team took a 4-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then HyPo had a 28-13 second period charge getting the lead and Espoo Team was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 69-91. HyPo dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Espoo Team's 38. American guard Bria Goss (178-92, college: Kentucky, agency: Merit Management Group) nailed 22 points and 5 assists for the winning side and Spanish forward Jael Freixanet (188-88, agency: Josep and Nicolas) accounted for 22 points. Four HyPo players scored in double figures. American guard Danielle Ballard (175-93, college: LSU) came up with 21 points and 5 rebounds and swingman Lotta Aaltonen (180-85, college: Coker) added 9 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Espoo Team in the defeat. HyPo maintains third place with 11-5 record having twelve points less than leader Catz. Espoo Team lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted Espoo Team keeps the seventh position with 11 games lost. HyPo will play against bottom-ranked Pyrinto (#9) in Tampere in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Espoo Team will play on the road against Peli-Karhut in Kotka and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
