The game in Doha was also worth to mention about. 5th ranked Al Wakrah (6-8) played at the court of seventh ranked Al Shamal (5-9). Al Shamal managed to secure a 9-point victory 85-76. Al Wakrah was ahead by 3 points at the halftime before a 50-38 second half run of Al Shamal. They made 17-of-19 charity shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of Omar Ahmed who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists. Point guard Bader Ba-Sulaiman (170-93) contributed with 27 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!) for the winners. The former international point guard Boney Watson (183-78, college: Sam Houston St.) replied with 25 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists and American-Ghanian Adamu Saaka (198-88, college: Furman, agency: Court Side) added 17 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Al Wakrah. Four Al Wakrah players scored in double figures. Al Shamal moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Al Khor. Al Wakrah at the other side keeps the fifth position with eight games lost. Al Shamal's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Doha to the arena Al Gharafa.
