Regular Season Round 17: Ironi Nahariya - Bnei Hertzeliyya 94-87

The game in Nahariya was also worth to mention about. 5th ranked Bnei Hasharon (9-8) played at the court of sixth ranked Ironi Nahariya (10-8). Ironi Nahariya managed to secure a 7-point victory 94-87. Bnei Hasharon was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Ironi Nahariya dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Bnei Hasharon's 36. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. American Richard Howell (203-90, college: N.Carolina St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 27 points and 8 rebounds. Nigerian-American point guard Michael Umeh (188-84, college: UNLV) contributed with 21 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Ironi Nahariya's coach Eric Elfasi used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward James Singleton (203-81, college: Murray St.) answered with 19 points and the other American import guard Drew Crawford (196-90, college: Northwestern) added 17 points in the effort for Bnei Hasharon. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ironi Nahariya have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place. Bnei Hasharon at the other side dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost. Ironi Nahariya will play against league's leader Hapoel Jerusalem on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bnei Hasharon will play against Hapoel Eilat (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
