Regular Season Round 33: Shandong FB - Qingdao E. 131-99

The game with biggest result difference took place in Jinan. Local Shandong Bulls (25-8) outscored 11th ranked Qingdao Eagles (15-18) 131-99. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Qingdao Eagles. The game was mostly controlled by Shandong Bulls. Qingdao Eagles was better in fourth quarter 36-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Shandong Bulls dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Qingdao Eagles' 50. Shandong Bulls forced 21 Qingdao Eagles turnovers and outrebounded them 50-37 including a 36-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Shandong Bulls players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Qingdao Eagles helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Michael Beasley (208-89, college: Kansas St.) nailed a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!), 19 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and American-Ukrainian point guard Eugene Jeter (180-83, college: Portland) accounted for 33 points (!!!), 6 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. American point guard Jonathan Gibson (188-87, college: N.Mexico St., agency: Three Eye Sports) came up with 42 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 7 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and center JiaFu Tian (208-91) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Qingdao Eagles in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Shandong Bulls. They maintain third place with 25-8 record behind leader Liaoning H., which they share with Sichuan BW. Qingdao Eagles at the other side keep the eleventh position with 18 games lost. Shandong Bulls' next round opponent will be TianJin Steel (#17) in Tianjin which should be another easy win for them. Qingdao Eagles will play on the road against Shanxi Zhongyu (#13) in Taiyuan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
