Very predictable result in Madrid where fifth ranked Gran Canaria (10-7) beat 17th ranked Movil Estudiantes (3-14) 87-70 on Sunday. The game without a history. Gran Canaria led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The best player for the winners was Slovenian center Alen Omic (217-92) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. The former international Pablo Aguilar (202-89) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. Four Gran Canaria players scored in double figures. Argentinian point guard Nicolas Laprovittola (193-90) produced 18 points and forward Juancho Hernangomez (198-95) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gran Canaria maintains fifth place with 10-7 record. Movil Estudiantes lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventeenth position with 14 games lost. Gran Canaria will face CB Canarias (#12) in Tenerife in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Movil Estudiantes will play on the road against FIATC Joventut (#10) in Badalona and hope to win that game.
