Regular Season Round 15: Casvi - Torrelodones 92-85

There was a surprise result in Villaviciosa where thirteenth ranked Casvi (4-8) defeated higher ranked Torrelodones (5-7) 92-85 on Sunday. Casvi dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Torrelodones' 28. Casvi forced 27 Torrelodones turnovers. It was a great evening for point guard Nicolas Bermudez (193-95) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Guard Sergio Jimenez (188-95) helped adding 20 points. Casvi's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was guard Pedro Robles (192-77) with 29 points and forward Javier Salson (199-82, college: Bloomfield, agency: Duran International) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds. Four Torrelodones players scored in double figures. Casvi moved-up to eleventh place in Group B, which they share with Estudiantes B and Villarrobledo. Torrelodones lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the eighth position with seven games lost. Casvi will face higher ranked Real Canoe (#5) in Madrid in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
