Regular Season Round 17: Betaland CdO - Umana VE 55-53

Bottom-ranked Betaland CdO managed to get a fifth victory, breaking the series of eight consecutive losses. This time they edged sixth-ranked Umana Venezia in Capo d'Orlando 55-53. It looked good early as Umana Venezia took a 10-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Betaland CdO took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 2 points. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Umana Venezia to just 6 points in second quarter. Umana Venezia's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Betaland CdO (5-12) moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with VL Pesaro and Auxilium TO. Umana Venezia at the other side keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. They share it with Banco di Srd and Scandone AV. Betaland CdO will play against higher ranked O.Lavoro BO (#13) in Bologna in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
