Regular Season Round 18: Faenza - San Miniato 67-73

Date: January 24, 2016
Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked San Miniato and 10th ranked Faenza had identical 8-9 record. But Faenza was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from San Miniato 73-67 on Sunday night. It was a good game for guard Francesco Stefanelli (190-95) who led his team to a victory with 26 points and 7 rebounds. Giancarlo Pagni (192-92, agency: SPORTlab Agency) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. San Miniato's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swingman Daniele Casadei (199-81) replied with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 15 rebounds and guard Giovanni Penserini (193-88) added 8 points in the effort for Faenza. Newly promoted San Miniato maintains ninth position in B with 9-9 record. Faenza at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the tenth place with ten games lost. San Miniato will face Torino (#15) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Faenza will play against the league's second-placed Cento (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
