There was no surprise in San Sebastian where 18th ranked Gipuzkoa (3-14) was defeated by twelfth ranked FIATC Joventut (7-10) 74-70 on Sunday. Gipuzkoa was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 21-14 charge of FIATC Joventut, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was Guinean-American forward Ousmane Drame (206-93, college: Quinnipiac) who scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Point guard Albert Sabat (182-85) chipped in 15 points and 4 assists. Center David Doblas (206-81) produced 15 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Pedro Llompart (185-82) added 10 points and 8 assists respectively for the hosts. Four Gipuzkoa players scored in double figures. Gipuzkoa's coach Porfirio Fisac tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. FIATC Joventut moved-up to tenth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Gipuzkoa at the other side stay at the bottom position with 14 games lost. FIATC Joventut will face Movil Estudiantes (#17) in Madrid in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Gipuzkoa will play on the road against Baloncesto Fuenlabrada in Madrid and hope to win that game.
