Rather predictable result when third ranked Familia Schio (14-2) beat at home 6th ranked Umbertide (7-9) 84-67 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 8 points at the halftime before their 54-29 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Familia Schio shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 58.3 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of American Jolene Anderson (175-86, college: Wisconsin) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 30 points and 10 rebounds and international forward Raffaella Masciadri (188-80) who added 16 points during the contest. Familia Schio's coach Miguel Mendez allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side American guard Meighan Simmons (175-92, college: Tennessee) responded with 18 points and 5 rebounds and Croatian center Ivana Tikvic (189-94) scored 8 points and 11 rebounds. Familia Schio have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains third position with 14-2 record having just seven point less than leader Ragusa. Loser Umbertide keeps the sixth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Parma and Napoli. Familia Schio will meet Napoli (#8) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Umbertide will play against Venezia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
