Regular Season Round 15: Valencia II - L`Alfas 80-67

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Valencia-2 (10-4) won against at home 5th ranked L`Alfas (6-7) 80-67 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Valencia-2. L`Alfas was better in third quarter 19-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Valencia-2 forced 22 L`Alfas turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by L`Alfas' players. It was a great evening for point guard Hugo Rueda (183-89) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points, 6 assists and 6 steals. Guard Adria Duch (185-95) helped adding 13 points and 6 assists. Four Valencia-2 players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Belarusian power forward Ivan Zhauniarovich (205-86) with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and guard Alejandro Martin (193-94) scored 16 points. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Valencia-2. They maintain third place in Group E with 10-4 record having six points less than leader L'Hospitalet. Newly promoted L`Alfas keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. Valencia-2's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Valencia to the arena Almassera.
