Regular Season Round 15: Barbera - Sant Lluis 86-65

Very predictable result in Barcelona where fifth ranked Barbera (8-7) smashed bottom-ranked Sant Lluis (0-13) 86-65 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Barbera. Sant Lluis was better in third quarter 14-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Barbera dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Sant Lluis' 32. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Sant Lluis was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for Jose Bernuz (198-81) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Center Luis Lopez (205-95) helped adding 16 points and 9 rebounds. The best for the losing side was forward Alberto Artiles (190-97) with 17 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Miralles Ibon (192-97) scored 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Barbera. They moved-up to fourth place in Group C-A, which they share with JAC Sants. Sant Lluis lost their twelfth game in a row. Sant Lluis at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with 13 games lost. Barbera will face higher ranked Salt (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sant Lluis will play against Sant Nicolau (#9) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
