Regular Season Round 17: Start Lublin - PGE Turow 78-101

Very expected game when 16th ranked MKS Start (3-14) was smashed by twelfth ranked PGE Turow (7-9) in Lublin 101-78. The game without a history. PGE Turow led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to MKS Start's 30. They outrebounded MKS Start 45-24 including a 32-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. American center Kirk Archibeque (205-84, college: Fort Lewis) stepped up and scored 21 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and Australian-Trinidad and Tobago guard Daniel Dillon (193-86, college: Arizona) chipped in 14 points and 8 assists. American guard Nick Kellogg (190-91, college: Ohio) responded with 20 points and 4 assists and power forward Marcin Salamonik (202-83) scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. Five PGE Turow and four MKS Start players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. PGE Turow maintains twelfth place with 7-9 record. MKS Start lost their sixth game in a row. They dropped to the bottom position with 14 games lost. They share it with Slask Wroclaw. PGE Turow will play against higher ranked Energa Czarni (#5) in Slupsk in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. MKS Start will play on the road against MKS Dabrowa Gornicza (#11) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
