An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Abadan. First ranked Petrochimi faced their biggest opponent Naft Abadan. Guests from Bandar Imam (18-4) defeated host Naft Abadan (16-6) 78-64. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Naft Abadan. Naft Abadan was ahead by 1 point after three quarters before a 26-11 charge of Petrochimi, which allowed them to win the game. They outrebounded Naft Abadan 42-30 including 30 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international center Meisam Mirzaei (210-92) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. International swingman Saeed Davarpanah (190-87, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Petrochimi's coach Mehran Shahintab allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. International Mohammad Jamshidi (199-91) replied with 26 points and 7 rebounds and the former international Mehrad Atashi (191-86) added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Naft Abadan. Petrochimi have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 18-4 record. Naft Abadan at the other side keeps the second place with six games lost. Petrochimi will play against Shah.Tabriz (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
