Regular Season Round 15: Olympiacos - Panathinaikos 80-66

There was a change at the A1 leadership position after last games. Round 15 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Panathinaikos (14-1). They were defeated by second ranked Olympiacos (14-1) 80-66 on Monday night. It ended at the same time the 14-game winning streak of Panathinaikos. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Olympiacos. Panathinaikos managed to win third quarter 25-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 28 personal fouls committed by Panathinaikos helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for the former international Vassilis Spanoulis (193-82, agency: Beo Basket) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 8 assists. American guard D.J. Strawberry (196-85, college: Maryland) helped adding 14 points and 7 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Dominican-American guard James Feldeine (193-88, college: Quinnipiac) with 16 points and 7 assists and the former international point guard Dimitris Diamantidis (196-80) scored 8 points and 8 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Olympiacos have an impressive series of thirteen victories in a row. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with defeated Panathinaikos. Panathinaikos will play next round against AGOR trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Olympiacos will try to continue on its current victory against thirteenth ranked Arkadikos in Arkadia.
