The game between sixth ranked Hoops Club (3-2) and 7th ranked Byblos (1-4) in Beirut on Tuesday ended with biggest points difference. Hoops Club outscored guests from Byblos 84-58. The game was mostly controlled by Hoops Club. Byblos managed to win fourth quarter 17-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hoops Club dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Byblos' 26. American swingman William Byrd (201-85, college: Ark.-Pine Bluff) notched a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international swingman Antwain Barbour (196-82, college: Kentucky, agency: Three Eye Sports) supported him with 27 points and 9 rebounds. Even 15 points by international Jasmon Youngblood (195-84, college: Kent St.) did not help to save the game for Byblos. The former international forward Bassel Bawji (203-89, college: Tulsa) added 8 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hoops Club have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Tadamon. Byblos lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with four games lost. They share it with Champville. Hoops Club will meet bottom-ranked Louaize (#9) in the next round where they are favorite. Byblos will play against Tadamon and hope to win that game.
