An interesting game for Pinar (6-3) which played road game in Santiago against 4th placed Santiago de Cuba (3-6). Third ranked Pinar managed to get a 6-point victory 71-65. Pinar outrebounded Santiago de Cuba 33-13 including a 20-9 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for international Anisleidys Galindo (179-89) who led her team to a victory with 22 points and 5 rebounds. The former international point guard Arlenis Romero (176-84) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 11 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Dislaine Vicente answered with 12 points and 5 steals and power forward Yuliannes Leyva (185-95) added 9 points and 4 steals in the effort for Santiago de Cuba. Santiago de Cuba's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending champion maintains third place with 6-3 record having just two points less than leader Guantanamo. Santiago de Cuba at the other side keeps the fourth position with six games lost. They share it with Camaguey.
