Regular Season Round 18: Trefl Sopot - MKS DG 65-67

Fifteenth-ranked Trefl (4-16) gave a tough game to tenth ranked MKS Dabrowa Gornicza (10-10) in Sopot on Wednesday. The visitors from Dabrowa Gornicza managed to secure only two-point victory 67-65. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 14-8 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. American-Samoan point guard Rashaun Broadus (180-84, college: BYU, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 22 points to lead the charge for the winners and American power forward Sam Dower (206-90, college: Gonzaga) chipped in 11 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was Marcin Dutkiewicz (198-86) with 18 points and Grzegorz Kulka (204-96) scored 8 points and 11 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. MKS Dabrowa Gornicza moved-up to eighth place. Trefl lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixteenth position with 16 games lost. MKS Dabrowa Gornicza will face league's second-placed Anwil in Wloclawek in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Trefl will play at home against Wilki Morskie (#10) and hope to win that game.
