There was a small surprise in Riga where Jugla (4-3) defeated RTU (4-3) 106-97 on Wednesday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 28-14. But RTU won second period 29-24. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Jugla made 24-of-31 free shots (77.4 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. Jugla looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. RTU was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Kristians Viksne (191-97) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. Power forward Andris Petersons (192-97) chipped in 21 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Martins Berzins (190-92) produced 23 points and 8 rebounds and guard Nauris Bikovs (183-93) added 15 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists respectively for lost side. Four Jugla and five RTU players scored in double figures. RTU's coach Dainis Bertans let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game.
