Regular Season Round 34: Jiangsu D. - Beijing Ducks 113-94

There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Jiangsu Dragons (17-17) rolled over 7th ranked Beijing Ducks (21-13) in Nanjing 113-94 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Jiangsu Dragons. Beijing Ducks was better in third quarter 31-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Jiangsu Dragons made 28-of-34 free shots (82.4 percent) during the game. Jiangsu Dragons outrebounded Beijing Ducks 47-23 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Jiangsu Dragons especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. Beijing Ducks were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for American swingman MarShon Brooks (196-89, college: Providence) who helped to win the game recording 39 points (!!!), 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. The other American import center Greg Oden (213-88, college: Ohio St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Randolph Morris (211-86, college: Kentucky) replied with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds and the former international point guard Qingpeng Zhang (187-81) added 21 points in the effort for Beijing Ducks. Five Jiangsu Dragons and four Beijing Ducks players scored in double figures. Jiangsu Dragons have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain ninth position with 17-17 record. Defending champion Beijing Ducks keep the seventh place with 13 games lost. Jiangsu Dragons will face higher ranked Shandong Bulls (#3) in Jinan in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
