Regular Season Round 20: Sokol Lancut - Nysa Klodzko 72-42

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Nysa Klodzko (8-12) was crushed on the road by second ranked Sokol Lancut (18-2) 72-42 on Wednesday. Sokol Lancut held Nysa Klodzko to an opponent 21.8 percent shooting from the field compared to 46.6 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Nysa Klodzko 51-25 including a 36-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was swingman Jerzy Koszuta (192-82, agency: Promotex) who scored 20 points and 7 rebounds. Power forward Rafal Kulikowski (205-85, agency: Promotex) chipped in 4 points and 17 rebounds. Center Jaroslaw Bartkowiak (201-85) produced 10 points and point guard Michal Lipinski (185-86) added 9 points and 4 steals respectively for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Sokol Lancut have an impressive 13-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 18-2 record behind leader Krosno. Newly promoted Nysa Klodzko keeps the tenth place with 12 games lost. Sokol Lancut will face Biofarm PZN (#13) in Poznan in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Nysa Klodzko will play at home against Notec Inowr. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
