Very expected game when Ventspils Augstskola (2-5) was defeated at home by Buki/BJSS (7-0) 83-74 on Wednesday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-16. But Ventspils Augstskola won second period 24-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Buki/BJSS dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Ventspils Augstskola's 36. They outrebounded Ventspils Augstskola 47-26 including a 20-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Buki/BJSS looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The former international center Kaspars Cipruss (210-82) fired a double-double by scoring 25 points and 26 rebounds for the winners. Center Ronalds Elksnis (203-92, college: John Brown, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Buki/BJSS players scored in double figures. Forward Oskars Gorbants (185-97) produced 32 points and Kristaps Purplevics added 22 points respectively for lost side.
