Rather expected game when 7th ranked Hap.Petah Tikva (2-14) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked ASA Jerusalem (6-10) 76-67 on Wednesday. Hap.Petah Tikva trailed by 14 points after 3 quarters before a 23-18 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 67-76 at the end of the game. ASA Jerusalem looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. Center Shamela Hampton (191-87, college: UNLV) fired a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Guard Brianna Kiesel (170-93, college: Pittsburgh) chipped in 22 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Forward Janae Smith (188-92, college: UAB) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds and forward Jillian Robbins (190-84, college: Tulsa, agency: LBM Management) added 10 points and 19 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Hap.Petah Tikva players scored in double figures. ASA Jerusalem maintains fifth position with 6-10 record. Loser Hap.Petah Tikva keeps the seventh place with 14 games lost. They share the position with Elitzur Holon. ASA Jerusalem will meet higher ranked Bnot Hertzeliya (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Hap.Petah Tikva will play against Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
