Date: January 29, 2016
Very important is a home loss of third ranked Sundsvall Dragons (14-8) against eleventh ranked Eco Orebro (4-16) on Friday night. Host Sundsvall Dragons were edged by Eco Orebro in a tough game in Sundsvall 91-94. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Sundsvall Dragons. Sundsvall Dragons cut a 15-point halftime deficit to three at the end of the game. Eco Orebro dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Sundsvall Dragons' 42. American forward Justin Baker (203-89, college: Utah Valley) notched 32 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and Bosnian Nebojsa Pavlovic (200-87, agency: HMS) supported him with 20 points and 6 rebounds. Baker is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even 29 points by power forward William Gutenius (205-92) did not help to save the game for Sundsvall Dragons. The former international point guard Charles Barton (193-92, college: Oregon St.) added 23 points and 4 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Five Eco Orebro and four Sundsvall Dragons players scored in double figures. Eco Orebro moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Umea. Sundsvall Dragons at the other side keep the third position with eight games lost. Eco Orebro will play against higher ranked KFUM Jamtland (#9) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Sundsvall Dragons will play against the league's leader Sodertalje Kings (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
