Regular Season Round 35: Shandong FB - Jiangsu D. 113-115

Important game to mention about took place in Jinan. Ninth ranked Jiangsu Dragons (18-17) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 4th placed Shandong Bulls (26-9) 115-113 on Friday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Shandong Bulls. Shandong Bulls were trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 27-24 charge of Jiangsu Dragons, which allowed them to win the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Shandong Bulls were plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American swingman MarShon Brooks (196-89, college: Providence) who led his team to a victory scoring 32 points and 6 assists. His fellow American import center Greg Oden (213-88, college: Ohio St.) helped adding 12 points, 19 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Michael Beasley (208-89, college: Kansas St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 12 rebounds and American-Ukrainian point guard Eugene Jeter (180-83, college: Portland) scored 24 points, 9 assists and 4 steals (was perfect 12-for-12 from the free throw line !!!). Five Jiangsu Dragons and four Shandong Bulls players scored in double figures. Shandong Bulls' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Jiangsu Dragons. They maintain ninth place with 18-17 record. Loser Shandong Bulls keep the fourth position with nine games lost. Jiangsu Dragons will face league's second-placed Sichuan BW at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Shandong Bulls will play against Shanghai Sharks and hope to win that game.
