Regular Season Round 35: TianJin S. - Fujian QB 111-118

There was no surprise in Tianjin where 18th ranked TianJin Steel (8-27) was defeated by fourteenth ranked Fujian (15-20) 118-111 on Friday. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 64-54 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Fujian dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to TianJin Steel's 40. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a great evening for point guard Dwight Buycks (191-89, college: Marquette) who led his team to a victory scoring 32 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Jeremy Tyler (208-91, college: Louisville) helped adding 19 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Guard Jordan Crawford (193-88, college: Xavier) responded with 44 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds (was perfect 17-for-17 from the free throw line !!!) and point guard Casper Ware (178-90, college: Long Beach St.) scored 21 points and 4 assists. Five Fujian and four TianJin Steel players scored in double figures. TianJin Steel's coach let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Fujian. They moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Qingdao E. Loser TianJin Steel keeps the eighteenth position with 27 games lost. Fujian will face higher ranked Beijing Ducks (#7) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. TianJin Steel will play against Jilin Tigers (#17) in Changchun and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
