Important game to mention about took place in Parana. Eighth ranked Sionista (12-17) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 3rd placed Obras Basket (18-12) 77-74 on Friday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. Obras Basket was ahead by 14 points after three quarters before a 27-10 charge of Sionista, which allowed them to win the game. It was an exceptional evening for Cuban point guard Reynaldo Garcia (187-90, agency: DTMones) who led the winners and scored 15 points and 4 steals. Facundo Giorgi (204-85, college: FIU) accounted for 13 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Sionista's coach Sebastian Svetliza allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American forward Dennis Horner (206-88, college: N.Carolina St.) came up with 7 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import forward Lorrenzo Wade (198-85, college: San Diego St., agency: DTMones) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Obras Basket in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Sionista maintains eighth place with 12-17 record. Obras Basket lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with 12 games lost. Sionista will play against league's leader Olimpico de La Banda at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Obras Basket will play against Estudiantes C. in Concordia and hopes to get back on the winning track.
