Regular Season Round 19: CFBB - Maurienne 55-82

Bottom-ranked CFBB (0-19) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 19th consecutive match to fifth ranked Aix-Maurienne (13-6) 82-55. The game was mostly controlled by Aix-Maurienne. CFBB was better in fourth quarter 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Aix-Maurienne dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to CFBB's 28. Aix-Maurienne forced 19 CFBB turnovers and outrebounded them 34-19 including 21 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Aurelien Rigaux (176-88) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 assists. Power forward Patrick Clerence (203-88) accounted for 11 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. Five Aix-Maurienne players scored in double figures. Guard Timothee Vergiat (185-98) came up with 15 points and swingman Sekou Omar Doumbouya (199-0) added 10 points respectively for CFBB in the defeat. Aix-Maurienne moved-up to third place, which they share with Lourdes and St Vallier. CFBB at the other side still closes the standings. Aix-Maurienne will play against Mulhouse Basket (#14) at home in the next round which should be another easy win for them. CFBB will play against the league's leader ADA Blois (#1) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
