Regular Season Round 16: Castellbisbal - L'Hospitalet 65-80

There was no surprise when 8th ranked Castellbisbal (5-11) was defeated at home by top-ranked L'Hospitalet (16-0) 80-65 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 14-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 80-65. L'Hospitalet made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Castellbisbal turnovers and outrebounded them 33-22 including 23 on the defensive glass. Castellbisbal was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Naturalized Dominican power forward Michel Acosta (201-92) fired 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Guard Gabriel Diaz-Morera (196-89) chipped in 15 points. Forward Marc Manes (196-86) produced 15 points and 6 rebounds and guard Roger Guardia (193-85, college: CS Fullerton) added 14 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. L'Hospitalet have an impressive 16-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group C-B with 16-0 record. Castellbisbal lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the ninth place with 11 games lost. L'Hospitalet will face league's second-placed AEC Collblanc in L´Hospitalet in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Castellbisbal will play on the road against Igualada (#3) and hope to win that game.
