Regular Season Round 16: Easo - Santurtzi 63-56

There was a minor upset in San Sebastian where one of their biggest challengers Santurtzi (9-3) was defeated by fifth ranked Easo (9-3) 63-56 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after three quarters before their 16-6 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Easo dominated on the defensive end, holding Santurtzi to just 6 points in fourth quarter. Santurtzi was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Inigo Del Valle (188-87) fired 17 points and 8 assists for the winners. Forward Javier Perez (198-91) chipped in 18 points. Forward Joseba Iglesias (200-83) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds and forward Mikel Sainz (195-95) added 8 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Easo moved-up to third place in Group A-A, which they share with Santurtzi and Estela. Easo will face Zarautz (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Santurtzi will play against Burgos (#10) and hope to win that game.
