Regular Season Round 19: St Vallier - Berck 99-72

Very expected game when 10th ranked Berck (8-11) was crushed on the road by third ranked Saint Vallier (13-6) 99-72 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 99-72. Saint Vallier dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Berck's 30. Saint Vallier had a 27-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Saint Vallier especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 60.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. It was a great evening for power forward Harry Disy (200-84, college: Louisiana Tech) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Jesse Delhomme (189-85) helped adding 15 points and 8 assists. Five Saint Vallier players scored in double figures. Saint Vallier's coach Jean-Sebastien Chardon felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side point guard Samir Mekdad (188-86) responded with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and Kevin Mondesir (204-91) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. Saint Vallier maintains third place with 13-6 record having just three points less than leader Blois, which they share with Lourdes and Maurienne. Newly promoted Berck keeps the tenth position with 11 games lost. Saint Vallier will face Angers BC (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Berck will play against Caen and hope to win that game.
