Important game to mention about took place in Palermo. Fourth ranked Palermo (11-6) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 6th ranked Castellammare (9-8) 51-49 on Saturday evening. It looked good early as Castellammare took a 11-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Palermo took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 2 points. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Castellammare to just 6 points in fourth quarter. Palermo brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Point guard Costanza Verona (170-99) nailed a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side and point guard Elettra Ferretti (175-93) accounted for 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Greta Brunelli (176-90) came up with 12 points and guard Deborah D'Avolio (172-93) added 3 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Castellammare in the defeat. Newly promoted Palermo maintains fourth place in A2 with 11-6 record. Castellammare at the other side dropped to the eighth position with eight games lost.
