There was a small surprise in Verona where sixth ranked Alpo VR (9-8) outscored 4th placed Albino (10-7) 73-46 on Saturday. The game without a history. Alpo VR led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Albino to just 7 points in fourth quarter. They outrebounded Albino 47-23 including a 17-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Bosnian Marina Dzinic (190-92) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds for the winners and guard Elena Borsetto (168-93) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). The former international center Elisa Silva (192-88, agency: LBM Management) responded with 10 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Alice Carrara (185-97) scored 11 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Alpo VR maintains sixth place in A2 with 9-8 record. Loser Albino dropped to the fifth position with seven games lost.
