Regular Season Round 16: Cordoba - Medacbasket 71-51

Round 16 in EBA means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Cordoba where host Cordoba (8-4) crushed league's leader Medacbasket (9-3) 71-51 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Medacbasket. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 71-51. Cordoba dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Medacbasket's 24. Guinean forward Cheick Sekou Conde (203-92) fired 27 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American Matt Devine (201-91, college: Westfield St.) chipped in 8 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Pablo Imbroda (-95) produced 10 points and 4 assists and guard Pedro Ramirez (187-94) added 10 points respectively for lost side. Medacbasket's coach Javier Imbroda rotated twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Cordoba moved-up to third place in Group D-East. Newly promoted Medacbasket dropped to the second position with three games lost. They share it with Coin. They were replaced at the leadership position by L'Hospitalet. Medacbasket will play next round against Velez trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Cordoba will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked CAM E.Soler in Melilla.
