Rather expected game in Velez-Malaga where 5th ranked Velez (5-7) was rolled over by second ranked Coin (9-3) 80-53 on Saturday. The game without a history. Coin led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Coin had a 32-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Coin especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. Center Juan Vasco (200-83) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Guard Fran Robles (191-81) chipped in 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Diego Ruiz (185-91) produced 9 points and 5 rebounds and forward Ismael Sanchez (193-83) added 10 points respectively for lost side. Velez's coach already knew that his team would not have a big chance, so allowed to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Coin keeps a position of Group D-East leader, which they share with Medacbasket. Newly promoted Velez keeps the fifth place with seven games lost. Coin will face Andujar (#4) at home in the next round. Velez will play against the league's second-placed Medacbasket in Malaag and hope to win that game.
